The students will be assisting the Criminal Investigation Resource Center (CIRC) director and associate director with projects that they have undertaken to support the Criminal Investigation Resource Center. The Criminal Investigation Resource Center is comprised of experts and student interns who assist law enforcement agencies with the investigation of unresolved cases. The CIRC utilizes crime scene reconstruction, crime scene assessments, inductive/deductive methods, and reasoning to draw conclusions and find resolutions for these cases. The student will assist with the analysis of unresolved cases by reviewing and organizing case information and helping to draw conclusions based on the methods provided. Further, the student is bound by confidentiality and will not discuss case details with outside parties or reveal any information regarding the cases they will be working on. Min contribution of four hours per week. CIRC director permission required. May be taken for 0-12 credits.
