Applied Biology (B.S.)


The Biology Department at Sage College of Albany offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Biology. This program is designed for students who enjoy biology and wish to work in a biology-related field. Through core and companion discipline coursework and internship experiences, students obtain competency in biology along with another field of their choice, which is referred to as a Companion Discipline.

B.S. in Applied Biology Program Companion Disciplines
Students must complete one of the following disciplines: Environmental Science, Forensic Biology, Illustration, Law & Society, Management, Nutrition, Occupational Therapy (3+2 or 4+2), Physical Therapy (3+3 or 4+3), Preparation for Medical Studies, Pre-professional Cytotechnology, Pre-professional Laboratory Sciences, Public Health, or Writing.

BIO 359 Explorations in Research Methods : 3 credits
BIO 401 Senior Project or BIO 427 Internship in Biology : 3 credits
