Theatre (B.A.)

The Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre offers the student training in the creative processes of theatre as well as the theory and history of theatre. Students will study, train, and perform with faculty as well as guest artists of the Theatre Institute at Sage (TIS).  Admission to the BA in Theatre program requires a preliminary audition with the Creative and Performing Arts department.  Theatre students must participate in juries every semester in order to remain active in the program.

Theatre Courses
Complete all of the following:
THR 103 Acting I: Storytelling/Improvisation : 3 credits
THR 110 Stagecraft : 3 credits
THR 115 Acting Practicum : 1 credit (taken 3 times for a total of 3 credits)
THR 203 Acting II: Contemporary Scene Study : 3 credits
THR 225 Voice and Text : 3 credits
THR 227 Makeup for the Stage : 1.5 credits
THR 230 Stage Combat : 1.5 credits
THR 265 Careers in Theatre Seminar : 1.5 credits
THR 303 Acting III: Performance Style : 3 credits
THR 307 Internship in Theatre : 6 credits
THR 403 Acting IV : 3 credits

Complete two of the following courses : 6 credits
THR 205 History of Theatre
THR 209 History of American Theatre
THR 212 Modern Theatre

THR electives:
Complete 6 credits of the following:
THR 304 Directing
THR 321 Performing Arts Practicum (1.5 cr)
THR 401 Directed Study
THR 405 Theatre for Young People
