Environmental Studies (B.A.)

[Advisement note: effective 5/8/2019, the Environmental Studies program has been suspended and is no longer accepting new students]

The BA in Environmental Studies is an interdisciplinary program shared by the Department of Biology and the Department of History, Law, & Government. The program provides opportunities for students to explore the science, governmental policies, and economics surrounding environmental issues. The program culminates with a capstone experience or internship in the final year of study.


Degree Requirements

Biology Courses: 20-21 Credits
BIO 101 General Biology I with lab : 4 credits
BIO 102 General Biology II with lab : 4 credits
BIO 110 Environmental Issues : 3 credits
BIO 326 Principles of Ecology : 3 credits
BIO 307 Internship -or- BIO 401 Senior Independent Research : 3 credits
Biology Elective course: 3-4 Credits

Law and Policy Courses: 27 Credits

POL 101 U.S. Government and Politics : 3 credits
HST 150 Climate Crisis & Challenge of Energy Conversion : 3 credits
