Information Technology-Cybersecurity (B.S.)


The BS in Information Technology-Cybersecurity program will prepare students for successful careers such as security analysts, intrusion detection specialists, cryptologists, cryptanalysts, and vulnerability assessors. Students will complete a comprehensive and relevant curriculum in information technology that provides a solid foundation in data communications and networking, programming, operating systems, system administration, database design, systems integration and project management. The cybersecurity courses prepare students for high-demand skills needed to protect network infrastructures, secure electronic assets, prevent attacks, investigate cybercrimes, perform in-depth incident analysis and build secure infrastructures.

Program Requirements : 48 credits

CST 301 Incident Analysis and Response
CST 305 Cyber Security Implementation
CST 401 National Cyber Security Policy and Law
CST 404 Cyber Security Capstone Project or CSI 485 Internship
ITC 101 Information Technology Fundamentals
ITC 205 Data Communications & Networking Essentials
ITC 209 Web Applications Development
ITC 211 Principles of Programming
ITC 248 Topics in IT
ITC 303 Database Design, Management, and Applications
ITC 305 Systems Analysis and Design Methods
ITC 401 Project Management

Complete one of the following:
HUM 113 Language & Human Experience
EGL 235 Introduction to Technical Writing
EGL 248 Applied Writing

Complete one of the following:
PHL 201 Introduction to Philosophy
PHL 209 Ethics
PHL 270 Biomedical Ethics
PHL 341 Values in Life & Work: Applied Ethics
