BUS 209 - Mathematics for Finance

This course prepares students to use mathematics as a decision-making tool in business and prepares students for further work in financial management. Topics covered include a review of basic mathematical concepts and techniques: basic algebra, percents, ratios and proportions, statistics, simple interest, compound interest, present value, annuities, sinking funds, amortization, and stock and bond transactions. Students will resolve problems using equations and tables. Calculators will be used throughout. 3 credits. [P]
